Events & Activities

Next event: 19th December - Winter Trip to Rock Farm ‘ Wreath Making’

As always these trips are completely FREE (donations welcome) and transport from Moulsecoomb is provided. There'll be a delicious lunch cooked from produce from the farm plus Nikki will be leading a Wreath Making activity out of all natural materials.

Spaces limited, book yours by emailing verylocalfoodhubs@gmail.com
(These trips are aimed at residents of Moulsecoomb, Bevendean, Bates Estate - do get in touch if you live outside these areas, if there's space on the minibus we would welcome you to join us).

From community lunches, to meals by candlelight as the sun sets, to exploring local growing projects….we want to get people out and about in nature, meeting their neighbours and connecting over good & local food.

Other events and activities

Community Fridge

Newly opened in November 2025 in collaboration with The Brighton Table Tennis Club. A place to share surplus and another brilliant way of supporting the local community to access more fresh produce.

We stock the fridge with surplus from our veg box scheme so it often has local & organic produce, but the best thing to do is come and check it out for yourself.

Opening times:

EVERY Saturday 12.30-2.30pm

Alternate Fridays 12-1.30pm (the same day as our delivery, check out our Facebook for this info)

Alternate Mondays 5-7pm (the Monday after our delivery day)

Fruit & Veg Box deliveries

We provide an affordable fortnightly fruit and vegetable box delivery service in Moulsecoomb, Bevendean and Bates Estate . Sign up now to start receiving your box at a price you can afford. We run on a Pay-As-You-Can basis, meaning you decide how much you pay, based on your circumstances.

Growing Workshops, Community Cook-Alongs and Farm Visits

Learn how to grow your own produce with some friendly, expert help from Fork and Dig It in Bevendean Community Garden.

Join one of our Farm to Fork farm visits and events to meet inspiring growers who are supporting local food production.

Come to our Community Cook-alongs and learn some new and exciting ways to cook the veg in your box. A fun and friendly way to meet your neighbours, develop your cooking skills and eat delicious food.

All our workshops and events are free. We apply for grants and accept donations as this helps us put on more opportunities and makes them accessible for everyone.

See the events page for details of upcoming opportunities! Feel free to email us if you’d like to know more: verylocalfoodhubs@gmail.com
